About WCSC

Yoga is an ancient practice that brings balance to your body, mind and soul. It helps in improving flexibility, increasing energy and achieving inner peace.

Our Story

A Tradition Passed Down, A Practice Kept Alive

Yoga Institute began as a small gathering of practitioners committed to sharing the discipline of yoga with their local community. Over the years, that gathering has grown into a network of meditation centers dedicated to teaching Asanas, Pranayama and Meditation to students of every age and ability.

We believe yoga is not just exercise, but a complete way of life that brings harmony between body, mind and soul. Every class, workshop and event we run is built around that belief.

World Community Service Centre (WCSC): In 1958, Vethathiri Maharishi founded the World Community Service Centre (WCSC) with the aim of fostering world peace through individual peace. Today, more than 400 trusts and nearly 2,023 sub-centers across India are affiliated with WCSC. Through its teachings, thousands of people have gained physical, mental, social and spiritual benefits.

From 1972 to 1993, the Maharishi travelled abroad every year, delivering lectures and in-depth teachings in Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and the United States.

S. K. M. Mayilanandam is the President of the World Community Service Centre. The World Community Service Centre (WCSC) aims to bring peace to society by first establishing peace within the individual.
